If money is tight and bills are coming due soon, it's easy to panic. Or maybe you'd just like to earn a little extra spending money. One simple way to earn cash fast is through paid surveys. When searching for online survey sites that pay, PayPal is a great way to get paid. It is easy, safe, and, best of all, fast.

There are tons of survey sites out there. So how are you supposed to know which sites are legitimate? After all, nothing would be worse than spending your hard-earned time completing surveys for nothing. Unfortunately, this happens to people all too often. Lucky for you, I've rounded up the best online surveys that pay through PayPal.

How to Find Legit Surveys that Pay via PayPal

You can rest easy knowing all the survey sites that pay through PayPal meet the following criteria.

  • Legitimate Web Hosting
Researching the hosting company is something I do every time I consider a survey site. I recommend you do the same. Make sure the company running the survey site is a legitimate market research company and has been around for some time. If in doubt, check the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
  • Proven Track Record of Actually Paying and Privacy Protection for Survey Takers
If the survey site doesn't clearly outline its payment and privacy policies on the website, run. Not only could you be wasting your time, but you might also compromise important information, like emails, passwords, or sometimes even banking information.

1. Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

(4.5)
4.5/5

How It Works: Survey Junkie is a popular option for surveys that pay with PayPal payout options. The company has been around since 2011 and has a B rating with the BBB. It is part of DISQO, a consumer insights platform that focuses on market research.

At first glance, it can be challenging to understand the Survey Junkie payment system. That is because rather than telling you a dollar amount, Survey Junkie awards “points” for each survey completed. Typically, the longer the survey, the more points they award you for completing it. You can complete most surveys in under 20 minutes.

The number of points you earn per survey ranges from 5 to 200 points on average.

Who Can Join: You must be at least 13 years old to take online surveys with Survey Junkie. Only residents of the United States, Canada, and Australia are eligible.

Threshold for PayPal Payment: Once you earn 1000 points, you can redeem them for money through PayPal. 1000 points= $10.

2. Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

(4.3)
4.3/5

How it Works: These paid surveys (PayPal payout eligible) are put out by a large international company called Dynata, LLC. You can take surveys with confidence, knowing they will pay you. Decades of consistency have earned them an impressive track record.

To qualify, you'll have to complete a profile. After that, you can log in to search for surveys you are eligible for or wait for email invites to take part.

While the payouts are higher with Opinion Outpost, you usually have to complete pre-survey questions. These questions determine if you are eligible to complete that survey and see the award amount.

But what about actual earnings, Is Opinion Outpost Legit? Most paying survey sites offer points which you can redeem for money via PayPal. Opinion Outpost is no different. You'll earn between 10 and 50 points for most surveys. Each survey usually takes 15-20 minutes or less to finish.

Who Can Join: Residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany are eligible but must be 18 years of age or older.

Payment Threshold: Cashing out via PayPal is available once you have 100 points. 100 points= $10. You can also redeem as little as 50 points for a $5 Amazon gift card.

3. Branded Surveys

4/5

Countries Available:
US, Canada, and UK

How it Works: Branded Surveys is a new addition to my best survey sites that pay via PayPal list. The online survey site has been around since 2012 but changed its name from MintVine to Branded Surveys in 2017.

Branded Surveys has many surveys available. When you sign up, you'll create a profile to access surveys. The more information you provide about yourself, the more likely you are to qualify for surveys. This means you'll earn more PayPal money.

Like many paying survey sites, Branded Surveys awards points for completing surveys. However, their points system is much easier to understand. One hundred points equals $1.

Who Can Join: Residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada are eligible.

Payment Threshold: Once you earn 500 points or $5 you can turn your survey points into money with PayPal.

4. Swagbucks

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

(4.3)
4.3/5

How it Works: Swagbucks is another safe and easy-to-use way to complete online surveys that pay. Paypal payment is quick, which makes this survey site even better. It also has an A rating from the BBB.

Swagbucks offers more than just surveys which makes it even more valuable than other paying survey sites out there. Swagbucks also lets you earn points (called Swagbucks or SB) for watching videos and playing games online. You can even earn cashback on purchases when shopping online through Swagbucks.

Who Can Join: Anyone in the world over 13 can join Swagbucks and start earning money for surveys.

Payment Threshold: You can get money via PayPal once you earn at least 500 SB. 100 SB= $1.00. This means you'll get $5 straight to your PayPal account. You can also save up and redeem in more significant amounts. In addition they have promos to get discounted gift cards.

5. LifePoints

LifePoints

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

(4.3)
4.3/5

How it Works: LifePoints is one of the longest-running survey companies out there. In fact, they have been around since 1946 under the company National Family Opinion.

To start making money online with LifePoints, you'll first need to create a profile. If you complete additional questions about your lifestyle, LifePoints will recommend surveys that you're more likely to permit you to qualify.

Some survey companies are frustrating because you spend so much time completing questionnaires. When you are told you don't qualify, you're out that time with no money to show for it.

LifePoints does a better job of providing tailored online surveys that pay you. Paypal payments are available so you can get your cash fast. Most surveys pay out between 100-200 points and take less than 20 minutes to complete.

One unique feature of LifePoints is the option to complete multi-day diary surveys. Log your activities over several days and get paid for them. You don't have to change your habits at all or spend tons of time. Just give LifePoints a sneak peek into your typical day and get paid cash.

Who Can Join: Residents ages 14 or older in the following countries are eligible to use LifePoints to earn money for surveys: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, France, India, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, and Mexico.

Payment Threshold: Once you earn 600 points, you can redeem for money through PayPal or gift cards. 600 points= $5.

6. InboxDollars

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

(4.5)
4.5/5

How it Works: You won’t get rich using any survey site to take paid surveys. PayPal payout options make it easy to earn an extra $20 to $60 a month with Inbox Dollars, though.

One thing I love about InboxDollars is the payment structure. Most survey sites offer points which can be confusing and frustrating to understand. InboxDollars offers surveys that are measured in dollars and cents. The added transparency is a plus in my book.

If surveys bore you, there are other ways to earn money online with InboxDollars. You can also play games, watch videos, scan barcodes, or print coupons. You even get a $5 bonus just for setting up your account.

For even more details, I’ve written a complete review of InboxDollars

Who Can Join: InboxDollars is open to anyone over the age of 18 regardless of where you live.

Payment Threshold: Once you earn $10 you can get paid through PayPal for surveys. If you prefer gift cards that is also an option.

7. Prize Rebel

Why We Recommend

Our Rating

4
4/5

How it Works: Prize Rebel is one more way to take surveys for money. PayPal payments are of course an option with this company as well! They have been around since 2007 and have paid out over $18 million in prizes and cash since then.

You can use Prize Rebel in your spare time to take surveys, watch videos, or complete other free offers. They have one of the easiest sign up processes as well. You can even join with just the click of a button if you link your Facebook account.

Prize Rebel offers many more surveys than its competitors. This means more opportunities for you to earn PayPal cash fast online. Some surveys pay as much as $20 which is much higher than most survey sites offer.

If you want to increase your PayPal money earnings, you can participate more regularly to qualify for higher tiers. Everyone starts out as a Bronze Level member. Once you earn 4,500 points, you’ll be at Gold and can earn exclusive bonuses.

Although you may be screened out of some surveys, Prize Rebel awards you some points when this happens. Most other survey companies say “too bad” when this happens. I like that Prize Rebel is different and values your time more.

The points system for Prize Rebel is also easy to understand. 100 points are equal to $1.

Who Can Join: Anyone over age 18 can participate. Teens ages 16 to 18 are also eligible if they get parental consent.

Payment Threshold: When you’re just starting out, you’ll need to earn 500 points ($5) to cash out. With these surveys for money, PayPal payouts are quick and easy. At higher tiers you can get paid with as little as 200 points. However, you’ll have to redeem for gift cards unless you save up a little longer.

Frequently Asked Questions about Surveys with PayPal Options

Still, have questions about surveys that pay with PayPal? Keep reading for answers to help you decide if taking surveys to earn cash is right for you.

How Much Can I Make by Taking Surveys for Money?

The amount of money you can earn is highly variable. The most significant factors are how many surveys you qualify for and actually complete. In addition, some demographics are more popular for market researchers to target.

If you fall into one of these groups, you will qualify for more surveys which means more earning potential.

Even if you are eligible for surveys for money, PayPal payments are also dependent upon how many surveys you complete. So the more you complete, the more money you'll earn.

You could earn up to $200 a month extra if you spend a few hours each week completing surveys. Of course, if you spend more time than that, you could earn more. However, with that much extra time on your hands, you could likely find a side hustle that will make you much more money

How Do Surveys Earnings Get Paid Out?

Each survey company has a different payment threshold. That means you have to earn a specific amount before you can redeem your points or “online cash” for real PayPal money.

Once you reach that threshold, you'll need to make sure you have your PayPal account set up. When you set up a PayPal account, you have a few options. For example, you can leave money in your PayPal wallet to complete online purchases. Or you can connect your bank account and transfer your money from PayPal to your bank for free.

Using PayPal as a way to redeem your survey earnings protects you. No need to give your bank account information to a survey company. In fact, if they ask for that or other sensitive information, they are likely not a legitimate company.

How Long Does it Take to Get Paid for Surveys via PayPal?

The time you have to wait depends on the company. For most, you first have to reach the payment threshold. Then, after requesting your money, you will see your payments in PayPal within a few business days for most of the sites I recommend. Some may take longer, though.

Once your money hits your PayPal account, you can typically access it instantly for online shopping. However, if you choose to transfer it to your bank, you'll have to wait another 2-3 days.

How Can I Protect Myself and Avoid Scams?

One of the best ways to avoid scams is to use reputable sites only. All the survey companies I recommend have passed the Savvy Dollar test to ensure they are safe and honest.

If you choose to search for other survey companies, be on the lookout for the following red flags. If you see any of these red flags, don't give the company any information. It is probably a scam.

  • Requests for bank or credit card information
  • Requests for your social security number
  • Fees to participate in surveys or “unlock” exclusive offers
  • Promises to get rich quick or earn high amounts of money for taking surveys

The Best Strategies for Taking PayPal Surveys for Money

If you are serious about making money online for taking surveys that pay via PayPal, you can use a few strategies.

Second, I recommend signing up for several survey sites. Signing up for more sites gives you access to more surveys. You can also get bonuses just for signing up with many of the survey sites I recommend.

Finally, make sure you read all the rules of any survey site to ensure that their surveys are paid via PayPal. Some sites offer only gift cards or other prizes.
