7 Legit Sites to take Paid Online Surveys for Money

How I Choose Paid Online Survey Sites There are only a handful of survey sites that actually payout, fairly, and regularly to members. Here is a check-list for ensuring you are working with a legitimate site:

Legitimate Website Hosting: The first thing you should do is check if a legitimate market research company hosts the site. I use the Better Business Bureau to come to this conclusion, looking for things like: how long the company has been in business, the track record of customer issues, and other resolutions. Proven Record of Payment: The survey site MUST have a proven record of paying its members, as well as a strict privacy policy that is clearly visible on the site. If the site passes both of these tests, I evaluate it on the following criteria:

Quality: What is the quality of the surveys? Does the site offer good surveys and have an intuitive member’s area? Number of Invites: Do you receive enough paid surveys to meet the payment threshold every time? Payment: Is the payment worth it? Does it equate to the time you’ve spent taking the surveys? Use my paid survey calculator below to ensure you are making the most out of your valuable time. With all of this in mind, here are the seven survey websites that I recommend for making money.

Be sure to stick around for my top tricks and tips for mastering the world of paid surveys at the end.

Pros They serve up a fair amount of surveys. I could take at least 5 a day via the site if I wished. That was plenty for me. OneOpinion gives you 50 points for surveys you attempt, even if you do not qualify. Surveys were interesting and well written. Could Be Better OneOpinion will only present you with one survey at a time, so you have no way of selecting the higher paying surveys. While most of OneOpinion’s surveys pay decent money for time spent, some were lower than average as compared to other sites. Join OneOpinion 3. LifePoints LifePoints PanelDescription: LifePoints has been collecting opinions of US consumers since 1946 under the name National Family Opinion (NFO). For those familiar with MySurvey and GLobalTestMarket, both have now merged into the LifePoints Survey Panel. LifePoints Panel is part of LightSpeed, and they host survey panels in many countries.

Who Can Join: Individuals 14 and older from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, France, India, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, and Mexico.

Once you are done with the profiles, you can see the available surveys to take by logging into the LifePoints website. If you prefer, you can also just respond to survey invitations via email.

You can use our Paid Online Survey Points calculator to evaluate which surveys to take. In my experience, I was able to find enough surveys that I could complete in 20 minutes or less that offered anywhere from 100 to 250 points.

Look out for diary surveys LifePoints offers. These studies have the potential to earn more money just for keeping track of daily habits over a series of days. This is a quick way to amp up your earnings, and it only requires a few minutes per day.

Rewards And Payout: LifePoints has a wide selection of awards. Point values for prizes awarded vary a lot, so I will just focus on Cash and Amazon gift cards here. You can redeem your points for $5 cash via PayPal once you collect 600. A $5 Amazon card can be had for 541 points.

Summary: LifePoints Does a good job of serving up surveys that are well organized and tailored around your profile. Disqualifications are lower than most other panels. Reward values are not as high as some other panels, but the secret to earning more money with LifePoints is to complete the diary multi-day surveys.

It would be nice if they offered more money for the regular surveys they sent out. However, I did find that the percentage of surveys I was qualified for was better than other sites. This means more time making money, and less time being screened out. LifePoints is a worthy addition to the recommended list of sites to take surveys online for money.

Pros Surveys are well written and optimized for mobile. Had no problems using my phone or tablet. You only need 550 points for a $5 Amazon gift cards. Could Be Better Survey frequency is lower than other panels. Cashing out via PayPal requires higher point values Points expire after 12 months of no member activity Join LifePoints 5. PrizeRebel Prize RebelDescription: PrizeRebel is a rewards site where members can earn money for answering surveys, watching videos, or completing free offers. Prize Rebel has paid their 9 million+ members over $18 million since 2007!

Who Can Join: Individuals 16 and older. Teens 16 to 18 must get parental consent. While individuals from all nations can join, members from the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia are likely to get the most surveys.

How to get started: Signing up for PrizeRebel is easy. head over to PrizeRebel site and fill in your information or Sign up through Facebook with a click of a button. Once you sign up, you will be sent a confirmation email. After confirming your account, you will begin a walkthrough of the site where you can earn some easy money to start you off.

How it works: Making money on PrizeRebel is mostly done through 3 methods: Answering questions on surveys, watching videos, or completing offers. You can find all ways of earning under their Earning drop-down menu.

The best way to make money on PrizeRebel, in my opinion is by taking surveys. PrizeRebel offers one of the most extensive inventories of studies available amongst all survey sites. They partner with several marketing companies to provide you with a large selection to choose from.

Personally, I found that I had the most success with the YourSurveys and Gold Surveys, but be sure to try them out all yourself. Payout varies, but you can earn anywhere from 50 cents to $20 depending on topic and length of the study.

Account Levels: PrizeRebel has a tiered system that consists of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. All new members start out as Bronze, and can then progress to higher levels based on the points they earn.

The idea behind the tiers is that the higher the level you are in, the more exclusive bonuses and prize discounts you will receive. These are extra rewards on top of the rewards you get for completing surveys. Once you reach the Gold Tier (4,500 points), you will get lower cash out options and be eligible for exclusive bonuses.

Rewards And Payout: PrizeRebel offers a large gift card selection from hundreds of brands. You can choose from Amazon, eBay, Steam, Walmart, and many more. Also, you can receive cash via PayPal or prepaid Visa Gift Cards.

The cashout minimum is $5 (500 points). At higher tiers, you can start cashing out for as little as $2 (200 points) for Amazon gift cards. Digital rewards are issued instantly or within 24 hours.

My Experience with PrizeRebel: Like Survey Junkie, PrizeRebel has put together a very polished survey panel site that makes for a good experience for their members. They even added a distinctive touch that allows you to see new claimed rewards from other members in real-time.

While PrizeRebel has no shortage of surveys to take, I did find it harder to qualify for them then the other sites listed above. However, they do respect your time by rewarding you with some points, even when you are screened out of a survey.

Also, it’s not uncommon to find some higher-paying surveys in the gold surveys section. These can easily net $2 to $5 for a single survey and make your time worthwhile.

If you complete your profile surveys and are truthful with your responses, it does not take long to earn enough points to cash out.

Pros Lots of Paid Survey Opportunities Member’s area and signup process are excellent. More earning opportunities then just paid surveys You earn points even when you are screened out Excellent Referral Program Could Be Better Money offered per time spent varies a lot. Be sure to use our Paid Survey Points Calculator to see the actual dollars per hour rate. Not all surveys post the estimated time to complete making it hard to make a decision on whether to proceed. Sign-Up for PrizeRebel 6. Branded Surveys Branded Surveys JoinDescription: Branded Surveys has been around since 2012, but changed its name from MintVine to Branded Surveys in 2017. Branded surveys is a market research company that pairs companies in need of insight on their products with people who want to earn extra money.

I was assured of the legitimacy of Branded Surveys by reviewing their detailed privacy policy and the multitude of positive reviews on Trustpilot.

How it works: Branded Surveys is free to join, and you can create an account in a few minutes. Simply enter your email address and your basic profile information to get started. New members will earn $100 (100 points) just for just creating an account and taking the profile survey.

You can find additional paying surveys by responding to survey invites received via email or just by logging into the members area. Most can be completed in 10 to 20 minutes. Survey payouts range from 5 points for quick poll surveys, to as much as 250 points for more lengthy surveys.

Who Can Join: US, Canada and UK residents age 18 or older or minors 16 or 17 who have provided parental consent.

Pros 100 Point Bonus for signing up and completing profile Lots of survey opportunities Low Payment threshold and lots of payment options Could Be Better Some surveys long for pay received No app, must use browser to take surveys Join Branded Surveys 7. YouGov Description: YouGov is an international market research company that is based out of the UK. They have millions of panel members from around the world, and their US panel currently has around 2 million. YouGov is not your typical survey panel. They focus more on social, political, and latest media events for their studies.

How it works: You can sign up for YouGov, by merely putting in your name and email. Then you will be directed to check your email and confirm your account. Once you click on the link in your email, you will be directed to your first survey which is worth 2000 points. This is an initial 2-minute profile questionnaire asking your demographic information like age, gender, and general economic and household information.

I was impressed with the way YouGov did an excellent job of explaining how they will use my data and responses at every step of the way. Plus you can update the permissions you want to grant them for your data in the member's area.

After that initial profile questions, you just then wait to get more invitations via email. If you wish to participate, they have lots of interesting mini-polls in the member's area that are based on current events. I did find them to be interesting, however completing the mini-polls are just for fun and do not earn you any money.

I have found so far that you will get about two to three invites per week. So far these surveys have ranged from 500 to 2500 points, and take 10 minutes or less to complete.

Who Can Join: US, Canadian, and Australian residents age 18 or older.

Rewards And Payout: Once you reach 25000 points, you can redeem them for a $15 Amazon gift card. If you stick it out until you reach 55000 points, you can redeem for a $50 gift card. To get money bank transfer worth $50, you must achieve 67,500 points.

My Review: The thing I liked about YouGov is the surveys are based on current topics and are not very long. They cover topics like the latest social, media, and political events that you probably talked about with your friends already earlier in the day.

The issue with YouGov is the frequency of surveys is low, so it will not be a big earner. But the time required to participate to be an active member is small. Also, you automatically qualify for every survey, so it is time well spent.

My opinion for YouGov is to join it. You can help shape public ideas by answering questions on the latest current events. Like E-Poll, the commitment level is small, so why not give it a try.

Pros Very Interesting surveys on current topics Most surveys can be completed in 15 minutes Excellent Member's Area Could Be Better You only get a few surveys a week, so it takes a while to collect enough points to redeem for payment. Have to collect higher point values to redeem for cash. Register for YouGov Is Taking Surveys Online Worth Your Time? With each survey panel having a different exchange rate for points per dollars, it can make knowing how much money you make per survey confusing. Actual Pay for Completing Survey $0.00 Pay Rate In Dollars per Hour $0.00 Paid Survey FAQ Which paid survey sites are legitimate? The truth is many so-called survey sites are not legit and will never pay out.

Getting paid to take surveys online sounds promising, and in fact, it can be a legitimate source of extra income. However, with the good comes the bad, and unfortunately, there are fake sites out there that are just looking to capitalize on people looking to make money online.

Paid Surveys Scam Warning Signs So what are some warning signs that a survey site might be a scam?

Sites that promote online paid surveys as a work at home job with earnings of $150 an hour or more. Sites that want to charge you a fee to access their “special” survey opportunities Ask your specific financial information like credit card numbers, bank accounts, social security number, etc. It's best to focus on sites that are hosted by market research companies like the ones listed on this page.

Why do survey sites pay you to take surveys? So you might be wondering, how can they afford to pay you for your opinions? Online surveys are an effective way for companies to get feedback from products and services from a broad audience. Since the survey panels have demographic information of their members, they can deliver cost-effective and targeted information for their clients. Of course, they get paid from the big brands for this valuable information. In turn, this allows them to return the favor by offering you money for your opinions.

How do you get paid? Each survey site has its own type of rewards. Some offer a cash values for each completed survey, while others offer points you can trade in for rewards. In general though, here are the two ways that most survey sites pay:

Cash: Many survey sites pay via PayPal, but some also offer check or direct deposit. Gift cards – Each site is different, but most offer Amazon Gift cards and other popular retailers. Can you make a living doing surveys? Sadly, no. While it would be nice to just sit home and take surveys for a living, the truth is you will not make enough money to get by. So be sure to keep your day job! You will not get rich from filling out surveys, but it is an excellent mini-side hustle if you want to earn money online in your spare time.

How much do online surveys pay? Well, this is the question everyone asks. How much money can I make? The answer? Well, it depends. How many surveys you take and qualify for will determine how much you make. Plus, if you fit the perfect demographic for a particular survey, you may be able to earn more money. Also, some development research topics will have you test new products that can result in free items for you to keep.

If you can manage to spend several hours a week consistently, you can make up to $200 a month. I have heard of people making $500 or more a month. However, I feel if you have the time to invest that is required to do that, you might find that there are better ways to make money online. The way I think of it, it's a great way to make enough extra money to get that Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription paid for. Remember this is something to do in your spare time!

Why do I not qualify for all the surveys? It all comes down to what the companies are looking for. For instance, if they are doing a survey on a specific gaming platform, and you do not play video games, you will not likely qualify. At the beginning of most surveys, they have a few qualifier questions that help them determine if you are the ideal fit. If you are, then you will be asked to do the survey, if not they will likely screen you out.

Now some survey panels are better at selecting topics for you based on the demographic information they collect from you when you join. This allows them to target their market research studies better. Still, disqualifications happen. It does not mean they are cheating you, but simply they have a limited budget to target the people that will meet the demographic for that particular topic.

To increase your odds of qualifying for a survey, be sure to keep your profile surveys up to date so that the survey companies can give you more targeted surveys. In addition, when taking surveys be sure to read the questions carefully and answer honestly. If you give two different answers for the same question, or if it is detected you are not giving honest answers you will get disqualified.

How many survey sites should I join? Don't be fooled by review sites that have long lists of sites for you to join. They cash in on referrals and leave you guessing as to which survey sites are actually worth your time. Don't spread yourself thin. Focus on the best survey panels, and you will be rewarded with better returns and reach your payouts quicker.

Yes, I do earn a referral fee for some of the sites I list (thanks for that). But, I crafted this list down to seven survey panels to ensure you do not waste your time. For most people with active schedules, I believe the sites we have listed here will provide more than enough opportunities to earn extra money in your spare time.
